Ahoy! Welcome to the only page at the Wharf not directly related to seafaring information or wharf history. Here you can find a short profile on myself, Blitzen, in my own words, as well as several other tidbits about me, and the fleets of the Mercenaries of War and the Swords of Alyria.
The Sea Dog
Hi, I'm Blitzen, a Minotaur Barbarian/ Psionic/ Shaman/ Rogue Hero who thinks he's half reindeer. When I'm not updating the Wharf or sailing in game you can find me trying to get a few quests in as well as taking care of my clan and alliance. I don't get off on PKing but I will play the SPKer every now and then.
I've played MM as this racially confused minotaur since Christmas Season 2004, but played as early as Fall 2003 under 2 older characters that were the usual poorly built adventurers that newbies tend to make. That was back in high school, which I graduated from in 2006. I now attend Virginia Tech studying Mechanical Engineering, so yet another thing that has precedence over my Alyrian self.
The Fleets
There are three fleets I affiliate myself with. My personal fleet, the fleet of my clan, and the fleet of my alliance. I have multiple ships to my name because as ship features have grown, so have I. They also help me test out various ship combat tactics versus players and pirates alike.
My fleet has 5 ships. My ships in order of ownership are: the Ocean Rebel a Dromond, the Bone Shard an o/s Skiff, the Blitzkrieg a n/s Super Dreadnought, The White Squall a Junk, The Wings of Eternetiy an o/s Super Dreadnought. I also once owned the Blue Runner a Drakkar, it gained a comprehensive set of ships marks and courses under my admiralty.
The Mercenaries of War
The Mercenaries of War fleet has grown in leaps and bounds ever since SPK was implemented. Beforehand, there were less than 6 ships under its banner. We grew in 2006 with SPK's implementation, having 5 Super Dreadnoughts to our banner, but with the split with clan 132 our numbers dropped once more. Currently we stand reinvigorated thanks to over 3 of my clansmen interested by pirate hunting.
The Swords of Alyria
The Swords of Alyria fleet was pretty much the Merc fleet plus a few medium and small ships here or there. When the Heirs of Tuireann came into existence, 3 of the 5 Merc SDreads were still with us, just not under one clan banner. With the appearance of pirates in Alyria, several corsairs, galleons, drakkars, and dromonds have been launched, further strengthening SoA dominance on the water.
In January 2008 The Heirs of Tuireann sought their fortunes elsewhere, and split from SoA. Currently a kinship still exists between Blitzen and this clan. In February 2008 the clan of Diversity joined our ranks and brought with them several young pirate hunters.
The Slacker
Basstian, if you aren't familiar with his fond nickname, was my fellow Admiral of the Swords fleet. Basstian has helped me with the Wharf and many other things. I am privileged to call him my friend.
Fleet Exploits
Many great deeds have been performed by the Swords of Alyria Fleet. Most notably has got to be The Defeat of The Immortal Duende aboard his ship, the Overweight Great Dane, by the SS Slacker II and Hell's Flagship, under the commands of Basstian and Ryshad in late summer of 2007. Most likely, never again shall an Immortal Ship be sank.
The Admiral
Admiral Dewey is an awesome Cat! And I do actually have him in game, he is a Sumaran Fisher, but he doesnt join me on voyages yet.
