Ship Weapons
Defend your cargo, and plunder theirs!All weapons are level 0 and I recommend you get them as many as your ship can hold! All shipyards stock the weapons. The firing ranges of the weapons as detailed below is the range in terms of rooms/spaces on the vmap. Ranges are also termed in rods, which are 3 rods to a room.
The three classes of Cannons are more toward damage, rather than accuracy or battle effects.
The two classes of Ballistae are very accurate, and while still dealing good damage are outclasses by the cannons for damage.
The Fire Launcher and the Harpoon are for the cunning captains of the world. They create special effects when fired upon a ship. The Harpoon grapples the two ships together, preventing a fleeing ship from successfully running away. The Fire Launcher sets the target ship afire for a few seconds.
Basic Cannon
The basic 1-stone cannon can fire iron cannonballs of up to 1 stone in weight, using the explosive power of black powder to hurl the ball through the air and slam in the general direction you were aiming.
Weapon information: 4 damage per shot, 20 range, 38% accuracy, 2 second reload

Medium Cannon
The medium 2-stone cannon can fire iron cannonballs of up to 2 stones in weight, using the explosive power of black powder to hurl the ball through the air and slam in the general direction you were aiming. This cannon takes more black powder than the 1 stone cannon and has an increased damage expectation.
Weapon information: 7 damage per shot, 16 range, 33% accuracy, 3 second reload

Heavy Cannon
The heavy 3-stone cannon can fire iron cannonballs of up to 3 stones in weight, using the explosive power of black powder to hurl the ball through the air and slam in the general direction you were aiming. This cannon is very powerful and takes a large amount of black powder to fire, but is not as useful against smaller, more nimble ships.
Weapon information: 12 damage per shot, 12 range, 28% accuracy, 4 second reload

Harpoon
Great for spearing sealife, or if you lean towards the offensive, these weapons make it possible to hold a ship in place and keep it from sailing off, at least temporarily. The harpoon is not as useful for normal ship combat since it does not do much damage to a ship's hull. This weapon uses black powder to launch the harpoon.
Weapon information: 1 damage per shot, 8 range, 25% accuracy, 4 second reload

-If successful, harpoons prevent ships from sailing away from an attacker.
Fire Launcher
These eight-foot shafts of iron pipe, when aimed at a ship or sea monster, spew forth a corrosive, burning mixture that will eat/burn/melt a ship's hull and cause rather gruesome effects on living animals. Expensive but quite effective.
Weapon information: 10 damage per shot, 8 range, 65% accuracy, 14 second reload

* Uses 1 unit of resource 'sulfur-mix' per shot.

-Can set ships afire.
Light Ballista
The ballista is an extremely heavy-duty mounted crossbow. This weapon is able to pierce a wooden ship's hull or even shatter a segment of an armor-reinforced hull. The bolts that the ballista fires are two and a half feet long of iron-tipped wood.
Weapon information: 5 damage per shot, 12 range, 55% accuracy, 3 second reload
